REHOMING & SURRENDERING YOUR DOG
SURRENDERING PROCESS
We are Here To Help!
At the Ozzie Albies Foundation (OAF), our mission is to help families struggling with their dog’s behavioral issues, ensuring that more dogs remain in their loving homes rather than being rehomed or surrendered. We understand the challenges that come with behavioral problems and want to offer support to those who are truly in need.
PET TRAINING
Learn How You Can Keep Your Pet
Sponsored Training Sessions
We want to help you keep your dog! OAF offers sponsored training sessions with our trusted partners, Mirror Image K9, to assist families facing behavioral challenges. If you are interested in sponsored training sessions, please fill out the form below.
While we wish we could assist everyone, our resources are limited. Sponsored sessions will be prioritized for families who have exhausted all options to address their dog’s behavioral issues but are unable to afford professional training.
This training requires your active participation as the dog owner. You may need to adjust your daily routine, establish more structure, and increase both physical and mental exercise for your dog.
Our trainers will guide you, but it is your responsibility to implement these changes. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to reviewing your application!

SURRENDERING PROCESS
Surrendering Your Dog
If the alternative resources we offer won’t or don’t address your situation, you may submit a surrender application for assistance and/or to be placed on our waitlist.
Important Information:
OAF is a foster-based rescue, meaning we cannot take in dogs unless we have an available foster ready to commit. If you cannot keep your dog until we find a home, we encourage you to help us find a foster who can assist.
Preprocess for Surrendering Your Dog:
1. Fill out the surrender application and send in clear photos of your dog to adoptions@ozziealbiesfoundation.org
2. We will review your application and respond within 7 to 10 business days. If this is an emergency, please state it clearly in your email.
3. If approved, we will send you a surrender link to complete the process.
4. On the day of surrender, you will bring your dog and their belongings to the agreed location.
5. Pay any agreed donation or surrender fees.
6. Stay connected with us via Facebook or Instagram. Due to time constraints, we cannot provide updates after the dog is surrendered, nor can we share information about the adoptive family.
Thank you for considering the best options for your pet. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to provide the best care possible for every dog in need.

Rehoming Your Pet
Q&A
Key Components of Rehoming a Pet.
Life happens, and changes sometimes mean that you may find yourself in need of finding a new home for your pet or the pet of a loved one. If you're in this situation, we'd like to encourage you to try and re-home your pet directly rather than bringing them to the shelter. This a more calming transition and comforting way for the pet, and means that you are able to be fully involved in the process.
We're here to help and can recommend some key tips and tricks to make the process go quite smoothly. If however, you feel you've exhausted all your options, know that you can of course contact us to discuss your choices.
BECOME A FOSTER
Would you like to be a foster parent?
Fostering is important because it helps reduce overcrowding in shelters and opens up space for another animal to be saved. It also helps prepare animals for adoption by giving them a chance to live in a home where they can fully express their personality, work to overcome fears, or recover from trauma.
We can help you take the first step to become a foster parent! Simply fill out our foster questionnaire and we will begin the process to pair you with the perfect foster fur baby.
VOLUNTEER
Volunteer with us!
There is always something you can do. You can help with home checks, stuff envelopes for an educational mailing, coordinate transport for new rescues, assist with a fundraising event, or data entry. You can make a difference in the lives of animals. If you can’t adopt or foster a pet just yet, you can help make life better for animals in our care by volunteering with our foundation.
